Buckle Up, Hold On

In 2016, the Obama regime will unleash attacks upon all those things they believe must still be changed about the United States of America. There will be no peaceful transition, no care emanating from this White House.

On January 12, 2016, Obama will address the nation with a State of the Union (SOTU) speech. According to insiders, It will be unlike any SOTU delivered in the history of American politics and every word of it will have been forged by the mind of Valerie Jarrett.

We are forced to face reality: The only real difference between Obama and other social fascists is what Congress allows him to get away with. With GOP moderates in control at a time when there is a decidedly liberal Supreme Court, no American citizen can trust Congress to challenge Obama’s executive orders.

The great Dr. Thomas Sowell complained that it is not accurate to describe Obama as a "socialist." Socialists believe in the government ownership of the means of production, and Obama is perfectly content to leave the ownership of the means of production in private hands. No, Sowell maintained that Obama is a "fascist." A fascist allows you to own your business, but tells you how to run it.

Nothing But Lies

In the ’70s as staff for the House Judicial Committee, Mrs. Hillary Clinton was dismissed for self-serving, unethical practices in violation of House rules. Since then, her effusive story-telling has been documented in Arkansas, the White House, U.S. Senate, State Department, and — her own home.

Please don’t mistake this as simply a hit piece on Mrs. Clinton, because all of her ilk are guilty of the never-ending lie. She’s just the latest in the spotlight. After all, nobody — and I mean nobody — is a more consummate liar than her former boss Obama (or her husband, but at least he flashes a folksy smile when doing so).

Seriously. Think about it. The American people — you — have been lied to since you first heard of Obama, Michelle, Jarrett, Holder, Reid, Pelosi, Clinton, Kerry, Gore, their government enablers, and every single person who supported their lies in entertainment, unions, academia, and the media. In the Obama years, lies are no longer lies. They are essential tools to keep at bay the opposition and their allegations; No, they use them as narratives to serve larger, loathesome political functions such as ruining the lives of private citizens, ruining businesses that don’t play along, and ruining an entire nation devoted to individual liberty.

They perpetuate fairy tales such as the creation of private-sector jobs, that the border is secure, the IRS acted properly, that government isn’t corrupt, ObamaCare is working just fine, hands up don’t shoot, and so on ad infinitum. Without all the lies we wouldn’t be in the horrid mess we now find ourselves; They wouldn’t have been in positions of power without them and good Americans would still be alive.

More Than We Can Stomach

by R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

Twenty thirteen was a distressing year. The President handed the foreign policy of the United States over to the KGB. Who knows, perhaps next year he will hand over domestic policy to Monaco.

Nevertheless, 2012 was no blowout. We have firm control of the House, and a good shot at the Senate next year. We have 54% of the state legislatures and 60% of the governors’ mansions. Finally we are poised to take the White House in 2016 with appealing candidates ranging from New Jersey to Wisconsin, from Florida to Texas, all of them smart, experienced, principled, articulate, and even telegenic.

Deflating the Left’s Gun Fantasy

PoliceOne.com released the findings from last month’s Gun Policy and Law Enforcement survey, drawing more than 15,000 completed responses from verified law enforcement professionals. The results are remarkable.

On April 8 in San Francisco, PoliceOne.com, the leading online resource for law enforcement, released findings from a national survey of police professionals that provide insight into the opinions of American law enforcement. The survey focused on gun control policies and the root causes of and potential solutions to gun crime in the United States.

The survey, conducted in early March 2013, received 15,000 responses from law enforcement professionals across the nation. Additionally, respondents represented law enforcement agencies from urban, suburban, and rural environments.

Only current, former or retired law enforcement personnel were eligible to participate in the survey. The survey sample size was broadly distributed by geography and rank in proportion to the U.S. law enforcement community at large. Respondents comprised a variety of ranks from departments of all sizes, with the majority representing departments of greater than 500 officers. Of those that took the survey, 80 percent were current law enforcement officers and 20 percent were former/retired law enforcement.

Covering a broad range of topics related to the gun control agenda being actively promoted throughout the nation, the survey found that the overall attitude of law enforcement is strongly anti-gun legislation and pro-gun rights. It also found that law enforcement strongly holds the belief that an armed citizenry is effective in preventing crime and stopping their commission. Listed below is a concise overview of the PoliceOne survey (survey in .PDF format). Response percentages varied only slightly when analyzed by rank and department size. Among the results:

86 percent think the currently proposed legislation would have no effect or a negative effect on improving officer safety;

92 percent similarly think that banning semi-automatic firearms, or so-called "assault weapons," would have no effect or a negative effect on reducing violent crime;

Demonstrating the opinion that the best way to combat gun crime is through harsher punishment, 91 percent said the use of a firearm while perpetrating a crime should lead to a stiff, mandatory sentence with no plea bargains. Likewise, 59 percent believe increasing punishment severity for unlicensed dealers would reduce crime;

Respondents were more split on background checks, with 31 percent agreeing that mental health background checks in all gun sales would help reduce mass shootings, while 45 percent disagreed;

71 percent support law enforcement leaders who have publicly refused to enforce more restrictive gun laws within their jurisdictions;

82 percent believe gun buy-back or turn-in programs are ineffective in reducing the level of gun violence;

91 percent support the concealed carry of firearms by civilians who have not been convicted of a felony and/or have not been deemed psychologically incapable;

Likewise, 80 percent feel that legally-armed citizens would likely have reduced the number of casualties in recent mass shooting incidents; and

38 percent believe the biggest cause of gun violence in the United States is the "decline in parenting and family values." This was trailed by "overly lax parole and short sentencing standards" at 15 percent and "pop culture influence" (eg., violent movies and video games) at 14 percent.

"This survey captures the perspective of an audience that has an intimate professional connection to gun policies in our country, yet is rarely heard from as a group in discussions on the issue," said Alex Ford, CEO of the Praetorian Group, PoliceOne’s parent company. "Our standing as the leading online community in the law enforcement market enabled us to gather what we feel is the most meaningful sampling of police attitudes about gun control ever compiled. There is clearly a wide range of opinions regarding this issue nationwide and we believe it’s important for our audience’s voice to be heard."

As PoliceOne’s Ron Avery wrote in his analysis of the survey, most officers of all ranks and department sizes say that to help prevent large scale shootings in the future, law-abiding citizens should be armed, not disarmed. To emphasize his point, consider the fact that just four percent of all respondents think that guns are too"Ironically, four percent is the same meager percentage of Americans who said they thought gun control was a serious issue." prevalent and easy to obtain. Ironically, four percent is the same meager percentage of Americans who said they thought gun control was a serious issue. In fact, despite the Obama surrogate media’s non-stop shilling for his anti-gun agenda, public support for gun control is rapidly ebbing. During the recent terrorist attack in Boston, when the lock-down was imposed and the manhunt underway, how many Bostonians do you suppose were wishing they had firearms in their homes to defend their families?

It is important to note that whenever you see Obama, Bloomberg, Feinstein, or some other public official in a news interview leading another assault against firearms, they do their best to share the podium with the heads of local law enforcement agencies. Next time, take note — the agency props usually represent municipal police departments and not Sheriff’s offices (ignore state agencies, as they are predominantly political). That’s because police chiefs are appointed and sheriffs are elected. If city politicians are against gun ownership (Chicago, Washington, D.C, San Francisco, and New York, for example) and the chief doesn’t agree, he can (and probably will) be fired or demoted by the mayor or possibly by a simple majority of the City Council. This is why you see chiefs and their officers in the background when privileged officials posture against citizen firearm ownership and, by definition, the Constitution of the United States.

As promised, Obama has issued 23 executive orders as part of his and his political allies’ campaign to disarm the American people and strip us of our Second Amendment rights. Obama’s agenda is diametrically opposed to the wishes of most sworn law enforcement professionals. The PoliceOne survey clearly illustrates that, with the exception of political appointees, the vast majority of law enforcement personnel nationwide stringently oppose restrictions on your gun rights — They would rather see greater enforcement of existing gun laws and more severe consequences for crimes involving guns.

And the survey? The nation’s law enforcement professionals have just burst the Left’s anti-gun bubble.

No Apathy on Gun Rights

There’s only one way to stop politicians from removing our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms – They must be convinced that they will lose their jobs.

Most gun owners were keenly aware that an Obama second term would bring a renewed assault on our Second Amendment rights. After the election came the tragedy at the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut. The deluge began.

This heinous act provided Obama and the Democrat Party, with an outpouring of assistance from their media puppets and wealthy simpaticos, yet another opportunity to strengthen their attack on the Second Amendment and pass ever more stringent anti-gun legislation. The deluge continues. Freedom-loving Americans will soon know what Senate and House members do with the gun control schemes on which they will vote.

But no matter how members of the ruling class vote, there will always be an ongoing battle for lawful, legal gun owners to retain their rights. There must be, because at this juncture, there is precious little upon which gun-ban activists and those who defend the United States Constitution can agree. How could there be? There is no way to legislate good behavior in lawbreakers or the criminally insane, and proscribing constitutional rights is tyrannical.

Zealous foes

A significant hindrance to prudence within the anti-Constitution bloc is that there is no place in their zealotry for reasonable regulations on firearms, something upon which most rational, modern Americans can agree. If there were, they would busy themselves seeing to it that the 20,000 existing gun regulations nationwide were being enforced — but that is the furthest thing from their collective mind. In fact, it is clearly evident that they purposefully abandoned "taking a stand against guns" a long time ago. Instead, they are now taking a stand against gun owners.

While it is currently apparent that those federal lawmakers who oppose personal freedom are having little success in passing expanded gun-control measures, they are nevertheless relentless in their pursuit to influence as many of America’s "low-information" voters as possible. Despite this, advocates for tighter firearms controls have expressed frustration that even a law implementing universal background checks — something that polling shows those same voters support — does not stand much chance for passage. Good news for liberty? Short-term, perhaps — only for an eye-blink’s duration.

The foes of liberty are tirelessly obdurate, which is why it is crucial for freedom-loving Americans to shake off their apathy and be heard by their elected representatives. The great Lady Margaret Thatcher once offered her famous advice to President Bush the elder, "This is no time to go wobbly, George." It was appropriately delivered then, and it is appropriate now to remind Americans that neither is this the time to go wobbly over the obliteration of our constitutionally-protected rights and heritage.

Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President and stalwart defender of the Second Amendment, recently wrote an article in which he detailed the reaction to the Obama regime’s obsession with erasing our very culture of peaceable gun ownership. Read the following excerpt (a link to the article is provided below):

Gun Owners and Gun Vendors Take A Stand

by By Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President

Across this nation, gun stores are virtually empty. There is simply no ammunition to be had. Backorders are running into the late Fall or next year, or maybe never. Gun sales are higher than at any time in history: more than one million in one month. And first-time gun buyers are exercising their right to keep and bear arms in unprecedented numbers.

All of this adds up to a massive civil rights protest the likes of which America has not seen before.

It is political spontaneous combustion. And I guarantee what we are seeing at the cash box will be repeated at the ballot box in 2014 if Congress votes for any gun control.

In all my years fighting the battle to preserve the Second Amendment, I have never seen a mass protest of this magnitude. As Americans learn more about the threat to their rights and freedom, it will continue to grow.

Politicians had better wake up to what it means for them in every corner of the nation. The men and women exercising freedom in this consumer-driven protest cross every personal political boundary and represent every walk of life…

Read the entire article.

As for Obama, he has repeatedly inferred that the NRA and the American citizens by the scores of millions who own firearms and engage in hunting or the shooting sports are nothing more than a "special interest" group standing in the way of his "common sense" proposals to build a more peaceful America by restricting firearm ownership. Mr. President, we who comprise a significant majority of Americans are America. We have the principled common sense to defend American values, heritage, and the God-given rights of man against despotic, anti-Constitution sociofascists. Yet unlike your ilk, we do so in peaceable, lawful fashion. It is the civil, constitutional way — But how ever would you know that?

As LaPierre has stressed, we have the greatest solidarity in the history of the defense of the Second Amendment. Each of us needs to do our part. We need to let our Representatives and Senators know, repeatedly, that our freedom, and their tenure, is on the line. They should completely understand all about unemployment after what they have done to this nation.
