Er… in a word, no. This mystifying, media-driven windbaggery has been eloquently deflated by Rush Limbaugh: "Obama’s purposeful political strategy, perfectly executed, is to be seen on the golf course. And on vacation. And seemingly disengaged from the traditional duties and schedules of the presidency." Rush nailed it. If your minions carry out your commands whilst you’re able to remain aloof and distant from the resulting carnage, you have succeeded. And as a bonus, the awful truth about his lies and regime lawlessness have been slavishly supported by the leftist media who helped elect him — twice.
Fast and Furious, amnesty, Obamacare, stimulus, crony capitalism, Iraq, Benghazi, Libya, undefended border, taxes, wealth redistribution, racial tension, Egypt, etc., etc., etc. Lie after lie, deception after deception. Obama may be the best you’ve ever experienced at hiding his anti-Americanism. Take time to read about just how deeply Obama has gone down the deceit rabbit hole:
DC Establishment: Practicing THE ART OF DECEPTION
by Rush Limbaugh
"Obama, Outraged Over Beheading, Vows to Stay on Course." — headline, The New York Times, 8/20/14
This was one vow Obama kept. Five minutes after his "outraged" statement about the ISIS terror murder of American journalist James Foley, Obama stayed on course, all right. The golf course. In Martha’s Vineyard. (In solidarity with the global poor and oppressed.) After internet-wide ridicule for their "unfortunate" headline, The Times quietly reworded it: "Obama, ‘Appalled’ by Beheading, Will Continue Airstrikes."
They were right the first time.
Obama’s purposeful political strategy, perfectly executed, is to be seen on the golf course. And on vacation. And seemingly disengaged from the traditional duties and schedules of the Presidency. Here, just a smattering of headlines:
- "Why Is Obama Disconnected, Directionless?" — CNBC
- "Barack Obama Has Already Checked Out of His Job." — The [UK]Telegraph
- "The Insiders: Is Obama Acting Like a Former President?" — The Washington Post
- "The Obama Doctrine: Inarticulate or Disengaged?" — CNN
How many stories like this have you seen? A lot: "Obama doesn’t like the job anymore, he doesn’t care, he plays golf all the time, he’s bored." I’ve got a theory: this is exactly what he wants everyone to think. Why does Obama go on so many vacations? To get the headlines he’s getting, to make it appear as if he’s detached, disconnected, directionless.
It’s a con game. I’m convinced he takes so many vacations to further this notion that he doesn’t know what’s going on, he doesn’t care, he is not responsible. The truth is, B. Hussein O. is responsible for every smidgeon of what’s happening. All this apparent lack of focus is misdirection — aimed at the elimination of any opposition. By that I mean the wiping out of the Republican Party as a functioning threat or check to his power. That is the objective.
And this isn’t unique to Barack Obama. Elimination of all opposition is characteristic of statists. They are power-mad control freaks, who brook no opposition. Leftists are singularly alike, and they have singular objectives. From Stalin to Mao to Fidel to the unions to the university to the media to the research-grant complex to the Democrat Party and every left-run institution in the world, the left does not tolerate dissent.
Obama wants the way cleared for him. So I’m convinced that all his vacations and all the stories about his being bored and detached and disconnected are to disguise how tightly he controls all of it. It is a well-conceived, brilliantly executed strategy that’s kept his fingerprints off all of the crap happening in this country for six years.
The golfing-bored-Obama is a corollary of the Limbaugh Theorem: he doesn’t appear to have anything to do with events. He’s always out campaigning against what he’s unleashed, in fact. He’s against what’s happening in the job market. Opposed to what’s happening with the banks and Big Business and cronyism. He’s mad about what happened in Benghazi. He’s living the high life, decrying "the rich" in every speech. And what impression is created? He’s got nothing to do with it. Poor guy is just buffeted by events.
I’m telling you, that’s not who he is. This is a hands-on, steer-the-ship individual. Yet, amazingly, he’s got everyone believing that he’s "checked out." It’s masterful PR, buzz, show, optics, image.
Look at health care: "You can keep your doctor; you can keep your plan." No, you can’t. "Sign up at HealthCare.gov." No, it’s an absolute disaster. Look at the economy. Look at the efforts to silence the Tea Party using the IRS. Look at the character assassination of Republican Presidential nominees. Several of them have on their resumes either criminal investigations, or now with Rick Perry, a criminal indictment.
Somehow, Barack Obama is not linked to any of this. "I learned about that when I read the paper." Oh, please. That repeated line of obvious BS is prima facie evidence of my point, that the strategy here is to portray Obama as aloof, disinterested, not engaged, not caring, tired of the job, bored, doesn’t care anymore, is phoning it in.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Obama’s got two full years, and in his mind, his Regime has only just begun.
Obama is pulling every string, directing every movement of his Administration. He is firmly in control, leading from behind the scenes. Obama is calling all the shots while everybody thinks he’s playing golf. That’s how he gets away with it, folks: by convincing people he doesn’t even care. Please do not doubt me.
Meanwhile, the Republicans have no idea what they’re dealing with. Barack Obama is on a mission to obliterate them. So he can continue his long march, unopposed, through the traditions and institutions that made America great — in order to fundamentally transform them into something pitiful and unrecognizable. He envisions standing somewhere — I don’t know, maybe in Chicago, or Detroit, or Ferguson, MO — in front of his "Mission Accomplished" banner, having once and for all eliminated the Republican Party as an effective opposing force.
For Obama’s purposes, the fastest way to get there is amnesty, which the GOP establishment long ago embraced. The big-money Chamber of Commerce is demanding that Republicans enact amnesty, according to Politico, with Commerce president Tom Donohue declaring: "If the Republicans don’t do it, they shouldn’t bother to run a candidate in 2016."
Amnesty would, by itself, be sufficient to give the Democrats control of virtually all the levers of U.S. power for a generation. In essence, amnesty would be a political (not military) coup d’état, eliminating the Republican Party as a national force. But the great Washington trick has been convincing establishment Republicans that amnesty, the very thing that will annihilate them, is actually the answer to all their problems.
Sen. John McCain recites the tired establishment line, as quoted by Time: "If we don’t enact some kind of comprehensive immigration reform, I do not see a way for us to really win a general election." All the establishment hacks say this, with zip, zero, nada evidence.
With amnesty, Obama plants five million, six million, perhaps up to 12 million new Democrat voters, with the stroke of his pen. Who then become the leverage, so to speak, to add exponentially millions more Democrat imported voters. Ideally, Obama would love to have the Republicans make this happen — and thus issue the Republican Party death blow themselves. That would be Christmas morning for him.
But thanks to pressure from you, and thanks to the hard work of stalwart members of Congress, including Sen. Jeff Sessions (see pp. 6-10), it appears as if the establishment amnesty crowd has been pushed back. (Again!) Which is why we are now getting headlines like these: "Behind Closed Doors, Obama Crafts Executive Actions" (The New York Times), and: "The Politics of Executive Action on Immigration" (MSNBC). Obama may not be able to manipulate the GOP into suicide-by-amnesty at the moment, but GOP death is fine any way he can get it.
After all, amnesty is crucial to his objective of transforming America. Remember, Obama’s goal is not to transform the Democrat Party. His goal is to transform the country. And if there is a blanket amnesty, then we essentially have a one-Party country. No matter what the Republicans do, they will not be able to compete with the imported – Democrat – voter numbers.
And the amnesty machinery is still churning deep in the bowels of the gop establishment. Politico reports: "Many prominent Republicans, from House Speaker John Boehner to billionaire super-donor Sheldon Adelson, still support immigration reform…" And The New York Times helpfully advises, "It’s Not Too Late for Republicans to Win Latino Votes." (Translation: Pleeeeese still do amnesty!)
But why was the House working on immigration legislation that was dead-on-arrival in the Senate, and would have been vetoed by Obama anyway? The harsh answer: Because the House Republican leadership is practicing the art of deception — on a very narrow trip-wire.
The Establishment wants amnesty, but they don’t want the public blame. They want their pro-amnesty donors to perceive that they worked hard to make amnesty happen. They authored legislation that would have given the big donors what they wanted: amnesty. Their plan was to pass a bill that didn’t have a prayer, so they could tell their donors: "See, we tried." They would say basically the same thing to Hispanic voters: "We do love you. Look what we tried to do."
The deceit goes even farther: The agenda all along was that Obama would ultimately use his executive actions. That way Republicans get what they want, what their donors want — amnesty — and they get to claim it’s all Obama’s fault. They’ve got to try to convince you that they don’t want Obama getting away with it. They want to persuade their donors that they’re trying to make amnesty happen, while they try to con you into believing they’re trying to stop Obama from enacting amnesty. Bottom line: the gop leadership supports amnesty, while they’re trying to figure out how to pretend they don’t.
What a shell game! This is what happens when a Party won’t stand for anything, and refuses to push back on principle. None of this saves the country, or prevents Obama from "transforming" it. None of it makes sense if you view Republicans as the opposition. It only makes sense if you see the gop establishment and donors as essentially on the same page as Obama.
It’s all going to backfire on this corrupt D.C. establishment alliance. I don’t think they’ve got the slightest idea what’s about to come down on them in November. While they continue to plot their deceptions, they cannot fathom how many millions of Americans resent the hell out of what they’re doing. But they’re about to find out.
It is hard for any of us to conceive how difficult our world situation is today, and it should not have happened this way. A lot of the things we are suffering through now, both domestically and internationally, should never, ever have happened. All that was needed was a president who cherished the Republic and its laws, and a sense of duty to provide firm, clear leadership from the White House. That we have been subjected to the opposite is heartbreaking — remember in November.
