Obama Control

Obama is ignoring constitutional separation of powers to implement gun control measures. By doing so he’s fundamentally transforming the American regime into a progressive dictatorship in which he can remove your natural law right to protect yourself and your family by himself, without Congress. — Mark Levin

Levin: We Need Obama Control!

Back from his holiday vacation, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin took to the airwaves Monday night to lay out exactly what’s at stake with President Obama’s executive action on gun control.

Levin argues that, by ignoring the separation of powers in the constitution to implement gun control measures, President Obama is fundamentally transforming the American regime into a progressive dictatorship in which he can remove your natural law right to protect yourself and your family by himself, without Congress.

The Founders separated the powers of government into three co-equal branches in the constitution to prevent this and ensure that one branch of government would be kept in check by the others. Levin argues that the American Constitution was specifically designed to prevent someone like President Obama from taking away your liberties.

The constitution empowers the Republican-controlled Congress with the power of the purse to stop President Obama. But Republican leadership has long since surrendered that power.

Without the right of self-defense, humans have no rights at all.

We don’t need or want anyone’s permission to arm and defend ourselves. We don’t need a law — or in this case a fascist’s diktat — to tell us it’s right or wrong. Those are our primal freedoms, they come before and above any arbitrary man-made law.

It is the truth that matters. Be thankful there is a Second Amendment, not for our liberty, but to define the limits of those who think they have some special right to rule over us and our liberty. And that specifically applies to presidents.

Executive Shenanigans, Again

More executive action by the Obama social fascist regime will be part of a new year push — to make progress on a long-stalled attack on American firearms freedom before the 2016 election heats up.

The Obama regime wants the second-most (many believe most) important of every United States citizen’s Bill of Rights erased, or at least made irrelevant. What’s worse, there is an institutional hostility throughout America’s enabling media toward gun owners.

I know, I know, progressive regimes always try to disarm the people. It’s what social fascists do. Still, it’s hard to believe that in a nation of more than 100 million gun owners, Obama and his minions will not stop until you can no longer defend yourself, your family, or your property from… anyone.

Constitution is Legal, Not Living

"The Constitution means what it says and it doesn’t mean what it doesn’t say," warns Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Read on to understand what he means.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia unleashed some of his harshest criticism yet for the court in a speech at Santa Clara University. Scalia has long been the most outspoken conservative on the court, but it is clear from his tone that he has never been more concerned about the direction of the Judicial Branch.

"The whole time I have been on my court, it has been a liberal court," Scalia said.

Scalia thinks the fundamental problem lies in the idea of the Constitution as a living document, subject to the whims of whichever justices happen to be minding the court. He disagreed with this position, telling the law students gathered there that the Constitution is a "legal document."

Laus Deo

America is an ideal enumerated in four documents. These documents give conclusive proof that the nation was founded upon God and the Bible — to say otherwise is to lie. The same is true for the Washington Monument.

One does not need a law degree or a degree in history to grasp this truth. It is obvious to anyone who does not have an agenda. Federal, state, and local institutions and monuments are adorned with the faith of our forbearers.

The documents? There is no doubt that God’s blessing was the central core in each. Take a moment to read the first few paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence; The Articles of Confederation; The Paris Peace Treaty of 1783; and the Constitution. There is no ambiguity as to whether or not the Founders were men of faith — nor the beliefs of the people they represented. It has only been since the mid-20th Century that social fascism has savagely attacked the nation’s faith-based heritage.

Were the Founders Christians or Deists? It is frequently asserted by those seeking to minimize Christianity’s central role in our nation’s founding and history, that the founders themselves were not practicing Christians, but rather were Deists or Agnostics. However, in a 1962 speech to Congress, Democrat Senator Robert Byrd noted that of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention, 29 were Anglicans, 16-18 were Calvinists, and among the rest were two Methodists, two Lutherans, two Roman Catholics, one lapsed Quaker-sometimes-Anglican, and only one open Deist (Benjamin Franklin) who attended all Christian worships and called for public prayer.

Constitutional Infamy

Obama just illegally granted legal status to more than five million undocumented aliens currently in the United States of America. He did so without giving the new Congress – voted in by a clear majority of citizens – a chance to legislate. There will be grave consequences.

Under the Constitution, only the Congress can rewrite the law. The American people just witnessed Obama rewriting the law. The American people also once again witnessed Obama failing to comply with his oath of office.

Obama bestowed unearned benefits on non-citizens tonight. He claimed he had the authority to take illegal aliens and convert them to legal simply by choosing not to prosecute them. That is not how our laws work; He has no authority to do that. Only Congress can change legal status, using authorities that include enactment, amendment, striking, and de-funding.

On Tuesday, liberal law professor Jonathan Turley stated, "This is a particularly dangerous moment for the president to defy the will of Congress yet again, just 15 days after an election in which the American people registered their emphatic (anti-Obama) judgment. What the president is suggesting is tearing at the very fabric of the Constitution." According to Professor Turley, "We have a separation of powers that gives us balance. And that doesn’t protect the branches — it’s not there to protect the executive branch or legislative branch — it’s to protect liberty. It’s to prevent any branch from assuming so much control that they become a threat to liberty."

Obama simply does not have the constitutional authority to do this. He’s claiming he’s got the power to declare criminal acts lawful. But take a look at Rush Limbaugh’s elementary but excellent"Reagan never took executive action on immigration. The Obama regime are flat-out, bald-faced liars." example: "Okay, You’re a cop and you catch somebody going 70 in a 55-mile-an-hour zone. If you don’t give them a ticket, it doesn’t mean 70 miles in a 55 zone is legal." But Obama is claiming that by not choosing to prosecute these five million lawbreakers, he’s turning them into legal residents, and he can’t do that. Only Congress can do that by another act of law. There is currently a statute that in no way supports this amnesty — and Obama has no authority to change that statute.

One other point. Obama, Democrat Party hacks, the sycophant media, union bosses, and their radical Hispanic allies have incessantly clamored that President Reagan also took executive action allowing some illegals to stay. He did not. Reagan never took executive action on immigration. The Obama regime are flat-out, bald-faced liars. When Obama suspended deportations and imposed his own conditions on those suspensions, he re-wrote the law. This is what really happened:

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed a piece of legislation known as the Simpson-Mazzoli Act. Congress debated and passed a law to grant amnesty to three million illegal immigrants, and Reagan signed it. Reagan only signed it because he took the Democrat Congress at their word — the Democrats promised him that the border would be secured so it would never happen again. The Democrats lied then, too — the border was never secured. It is a blatant lie when Obama and his minions equate his executive order with a president signing legislation.

The Obama regime and their leftist allies really believe that they can make you think that Reagan signing a piece of legislation is identical to Obama writing and signing an executive order. His minions say, "Well, Reagan did it. Reagan granted amnesty, and President George H. W. Bush granted amnesty, so Obama’s not doing anything different." Except that it’s completely different. Obama has no legislation. The president cannot write law. The president can’t make it up.

That is what Obama did. And that violates his oath to enforce and uphold the law as it’s written. The American people, the Congress, and the courts deserve a president who will enforce the law. When Obama unilaterally acted based upon trivialities — "I will not enforce the law because I don’t like it or because I’m impatient" — that is illegal under our Constitution and anathema to the rule of law.

The consequences from Obama’s anti-American presidency will plague our nation long after he’s gone.

God Preserve the United States of America.
